England Vs. New Zealand- ICC Champions Trophy 2013 Match 11 Preview

In the 11th ICC Champions Trophy battle England will be locking horns with New Zealand at the Sophia Gardens in Cardiff. In the last battle of the Group A match, rain resulted in an early close down of the match leaving chances high for these to two teams to make their place in the semi finals this time. New Zealand with a 3 points score will be looking forward to make an easy lead over England having 2 points on their part. However the hosts are not going to prove an easy competitor and will give a tough fight to kiwis for the semis. Still stakes are high for English team as even if they beat New Zealand they will have to look out whether Australia beats Sri Lanka then only they can make it to semi finals. Rest there is no chance of a comeback if England losses this fixture.
Match Venue and Date
England will be taking on to New Zealand in the 11th ICC Champions Trophy match to be played at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff. The match is scheduled on June 16, 2013 at 10:30 (local time).
England
England was faced with defeat against Sri Lanka in their last fixture; this will be putting them under pressure. However the batting performance of team has being impressive in the last two matches where they scored 269 and 293 runs respectively. Jonathan Trott has played some good innings in the Champions trophy matches till now while youngster Joe Root also made an impact with his bat in the last match scoring 68 out of 55 balls. Captain Alastair Cook along with Ian Bell is strengthening the team play. Ravi Bopara has also boosted the batting performance of the team.
The English bowlers are considered to be second lethal players after Pakistan bowlers were not able to contain the Sri Lankan batsmen as they easily chased a 293 score. Stuart Broad along with Tim Bresnan proved to be expensive who leaked 130 runs in total. Also James Anderson and others were not able to tremble the Sri Lankan layers at crucial stages which ultimately lead to the loss for England. However England has played many ODIs against New Zealand and their experience may prove to be helpful.
New Zealand
After facing some of the tough competitors on the England pitch now for some time now Kiwis must have been used to the climatic conditions here. In batting Martin Guptill who was brilliant against the England team in the ODI tournament has not being able to play up to his level in the Champions Trophy. Also Ross Taylor has the same condition while captain Brendon McCullum is also fighting to stabilize himself on the pitch. Only Luke Ronchi is able to give a boost to the team with his play but he is also not being able to take the inning too far.
In bowling New Zealand have some of the best bowlers including Kyle Mills, fast bowler Mitchell McClenaghan and the much known Daniel Vettori. In their last two fixtures the Kiwi bowlers winded Sri Lanka for just 138 and ended Australian play at 243 runs. Mitchell McClenaghan who already has clinched 8 wickets in these two matches will be important for the team this time as well.
