Match Venue and Date

India
After securing couple of thrilling wins in the warm up matches Indian team will be inaugurating in the 2013 Champions Trophy on a high. In the match against Sri Lanka bowling may have been a low point for India but Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik were able to revive the team’s play. They successfully led the team for a win chasing a score of 333. In the other battle the Indian score board read 308/6 at the end of the first inning at the play in return the Australian team was not even able to cross the 100 marks and winded at 65 runs only. In this tournament it seems batting is the savior for the team with Dinesh Karthik in form. However non performance of Murali Vijay and Shikhar Dhawan in both these matches can raise alarm.
The performance of the Indian bowlers was way too apart in both the matches. In one they simply lead the runs rope in against Sri Lanka while against Australia they simply smashed the team. The spinners were the real players against the Lankan team while pacers seemed to simply not even maintain their line and length of deliveries along with the pace. In contrast against Australia, Umesh Yadav coupling with Ishant Sharma the first 8 Australian wickets. There should be the same play from the team against SA as well.
South Africa
South Africa does not have a good past in the tournaments like this where they simple slip off at the crucial moments. However the SA team is not easy to confront with an ideal balance of young talent and much needed experience players, there are speculations on the best performance of the team. If we go by the team list the batting order of the SA team looks pretty promising but at the same time concerning as well. With the inclusion of new talent majorly it will be interesting to see how the team plays against the world’s best giants. Captain AB de Villiers will be the anchor point to the South African team.
In the bowling South Africa is no easy team in fact the bowlers seems to be the real strength of the team looking at their past performances. Dale Steyn is easily capable of burning hole in the bats of the players and is backed by Morne Morkel again a threat for all. Well in the middle order spinners Robin Peterson & Aaron Phangiso along with Lonwabo Tsotsobe will be interesting to look at.
