Now in the next battle it’s south Africa and West Indies which are lined up for the 9th ICC Champions Trophy fight. This match is really crucial for both the teams as it is going to decide their fate in the Champions Trophy and none of the teams will be interested in losing their chance. Looking at the stats there is something very interesting. Both the teams have a 1-win and 1-loss score in the tournament so far and both have defeated Pakistan and lost against India.

South Africa
After beating Pakistan the South African team was on a high. They marked a 67runs win against them in where Hashim Amla was the major contributor with his 81 runs while Colin Ingram added 53 runs for the team. After the first wicket fall Faf du Plessis took the team forward and played an inning of 28 runs. In the middle overs however the team was not able to stay for long and captain AB de Villiers along with JP Duminy got out for no reason winding up team for 234 runs. The batting of the team has being their strength however there are concerns regarding the bowling and fielding of the team.
In bowing Morne Morkel along with Dale Steyn are giving tough time to the other teams easily. Ryan McLaren clinching 4 wickets and giving just 19 runs was also impressive. Chris Morris and Lonwabo Tsotsobe are also important names for the team.
West Indies
In their first fixture West Indies got to face abysmal defeat by 8 wickets against India owing to their poor batting performance in both their matches. The team needed to struggle to chase a score of 171 playing against Pakistan while they got bold for just 182 against India. Darren Sammy was the only one who played an impressive inning. Johnson Charles has appropriately backed the team’s performance and will be important once again. However the veteran player Ramnaresh Sarwan has not shown his worth till now in the tournament. Chris Gayle along with Kieron Pollard who was seen to be blasting has not put up any fiery performance. Denesh Ramdin’s absence will be a concern for the team.
The bowling performance of the team has being way too apart in the last two matches. Apart from Sunil Narine none of the bowlers were able to stand against Indian batsmen. To restrict Indian bowlers team used 8 bowlers but was still not able to contain the Indian team.
