India Vs. West Indies Champions Trophy 2013 Live Score - Match Preview

After marking a win against South Africa, India is all geared up to play its second game in the ICC Champions Trophy where it will be facing West Indies in the 6th Champions Trophy match. On the other side West Indies is also coming from a straight win where it smashed Pakistan. Making their first leads in the ICC tournament it will be interesting to see these two teams fight for the early lead in the battle at the Kennington Oval in London.
Match Venue and Date
In the 6th ICC Champions Trophy match India will be taking on to West Indies at the Oval, London. The match will be played on June 11th, 2013 starting at 3:00 pm (IST).
India
Indian team put up a highly impressive performance against South Africa in their first match. Shikhar Dhawan opening with Rohit Sharma made a marking partnership of 127 runs leading team to victory. Making the play of Indian team more impressive was the stability of the middle order batsmen. Virat Kohli, Dinesh Karthik, Suresh Raina and summing up Skipper MS Dhoni all went on a run spree against the SA bowlers. Not only the spinners but the younger talent of the Indian also handled pacers from South African players easily. All rounder Ravindra Jadeja coupled with R Ashwin has provided the extra security to the team.
Bowling has being always being the concern of the Indian team. This tournament has also seen some of the woes in the bowling order. Umesh Yadav who impressed everyone with his deliveries against Australia in the warm up match was not able to maintain his accuracy against South Africa. Ishant Sharma simply leaked runs touching the economy of 8.50runs/over, made skipper Dhoni to introduce Suresh Raina for 6 overs. However the spinners Jadeja and Ashwin were able to restrict the SA batsmen. Fielding is being the real strength of the team in this tournament just there are concerns with the bowling.
West Indies
West Indies started impressively against the Pakistan bowlers but at the end they simply lost control over the match losing their 8 wickets. Though the team marked a 2 wickets win against Pakistan but it is a deal of concern for the team. The opening batting order of the team included Johnson Charles, Darren Bravo and Ramnaresh Sarwan. They all simple succumbed against the Pakistan bowlers getting back to pavilion without scoring double digit runs. The rest of the lineup also failed to impress the fans and show cased no impressive play. This time West Indies team needs to work on all the loop holes they have. Also one of the important aspects is to maintain a profitable partnership together.
In the bowling section team was simple appreciable with its bowlers working with accuracy, technique and pace. Declining the Pakistan team first to 15/3 and then taking them to 110/7 was very impressive. Combo of Kemar Roach and Sunil Narine were very crucial in restricting the Pakistan batsmen. Captain Dwayne Bravo was also impressive with his deliveries. Also Kieron Pollard was able to put up a good play.

This time on the pitch of Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham the co-hosting team England will be locking horn with the Australia players in the 3rdmatch of the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy. Talking about the Aussies they already have clinched this trophy twice in the consecutive years 2006 and 2009. Australia currently is enjoying the first rank in this competition and it will look forward to make a mark by winning this season as well. On the other side the England team has not won any of the 50 over international cricket competition and is currently place at no.6 in the ranking.
Match Venue and Date
The 3rd match of the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy will be played between England and Australia. The match is scheduled to be played at Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham on June 8, 2013 starting at 3:00 pm (IST).
Australia
Australia is coming to the Champions Trophy after the 5-0 win in the international cricket that they played against West Indies. Apart from the warm up matches the team has also played the 4 matches test series against India which they lost by 4-0. Lastly the players of the Aussie team played in the IPL 6 as well. The Australian team put up an impressive performance where they lashed West Indies chasing the score of 258 runs. However the team got smashed by the Indian bowlers in the second warm up match where they got wrapped up at 65 runs only.
Placed in Group A along with Sri Lanka, England and New Zealand, Australia will be looking forward for a lead in the early matches as there is very less scope for any later comeback. This season the team is going to debut with a team of new players while their real strength lies in bowling department. In the absence of the names like Hussey brothers, Cameron White, Brett Lee and Ricky Ponting it will be on the part of younger talent to drive the team for a success. Also Michael Clarke’s back injury raises concern for the team as he will be swapped by George Bailey this time.
England
This Champions Trophy Season England was not in any of the warm up matches as it was scheduled to play with New Zealand in a 3 match ODI series. The team lost the series by 1-2 and the bowlers were simply crushed under the bat by the New Zealand’s Martin Guptil. In the batting for the England team Ian Bell and Jonathan Trott are the names that will be looked forward by the team to perform. Also Ravi Bopara’s inclusion in the team gives it a balance.
In the bowling the England bowlers have a lead that they are playing on their home ground and are more familiar with the environment than any other team. Pacers like James Anderson, Tim Bresnan, Steven Finn and Stuart Broad will be looked forward to make early leads in the match. In the spinner’s section Swann will be taking care of middle overs.

Pakistan Vs. West Indies Live Score & Updates -Champions Trophy Group B Match 2

For the 5th ranker Pakistan team in the Champions Trophy the season will starting with the first match with the West Indies which is placed at number 8. For the team Pakistan, Champion Trophy experience has never led to a winning moment. If we go by the stats team had played in to their best in the years 2000, 2004 and 2009 making it to the semi finals in the last 6 Champions Trophy tournaments. On the other side the competitor West Indies went for a win in the 2004 led by Brain Lara in England but at present is ranked lowest in the competition.
Match Venue and Date
The 2nd 2013 ICC Champions Trophy match will be played between Pakistan and West Indies at The Oval, London. The match will be played on 7th June, 2013 starting at 3:00 pm.
Pakistan
Pakistan has a lead this time in the series as the team has played ODIs here in UK before the warm up matches facing Ireland and Scotland. This time the Pakistan team has an impressive fielding line up with the combination of young talent and experience players, under the captaincy of Misbah -ul- Haq. In the warm up matches Pakistan was no able to take on to the Sri Lankan team due to rain while in the second match team made an impressive lead over South Africa. This will boost the confidence of the team for sure.
In the bowling order the youngsters Asad Ali and Junaid Khan opened fire with their pace deliveries against the South African team picking the first 5 wickets. Also Wahab Riaz was able to clinch 3 wickets in his share as well. Chasing the 202 score put by SA , Pakistan’s batting order marked the win with still five overs left to spare. Imran Farhat and Mohammad Hafeez are the major contributors who added runs with their half centuries. Overall Pakistan looks like a cohesive and well balanced team that will give a tough fight to West Indies.
West Indies
West Indies is no in rhythm as the team has not played any matches in the recent days. Their last international play was against Zimbabwe in March and since then there is no tournament faced by the team. But never the less the team has the IPL might performers Chris Gayle and Dwayne Bravo still the team has not much international exposure. Others like Ramnaresh Sarwan, Darren Bravo, Sunil Narine, Darren Sammy and Kieron Pollard will be important for the team.
Although West Indies lost its first battle against Australia as a warm up match it is not a weak spot for the team. Darren Bravo and Johnson Charles were the players who raise hope for the team before the collapse of the middle order players. Team scored 256 runs in total out of which 82 runs were contributed by Bravo and 55 runs by Charles. In the bowling West Indies was making a mark until they were faced by Shane Watson who smashed them all scoring 135. Sunil Narine, Darren Sammy and Jason Holder need to pull up their play for win.
Probable Team Squad
Pakistan: Misbah- Ul- Haq (c), Imran Farhat, Mohammad Hafeez, Asad Shafiq, Nasir Jamshed, Kamran Akmal (wk), Shoaib Malik, Wahab Ria, Saeed Ajmal, Junaid Khan, Asad Ali
West Indies: Dwayne Bravo (c), Darren Bravo, Chris Gayle, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Kieron Pollard, Darren Sammy, Jason Holder, Johnson Charles, Sunil Narine, Ravi Rampaul, Kemar Roach

India Vs. South Africa Live Score - ICC Champions Trophy Match 1 Updates

In the 7th Champions Trophy the first battle is to be fought between India and South Africa at Cardiff Wales Stadium, Cardiff. Both the teams are placed in Group B along with West Indies and Pakistan in this tournament. Going by the stats India is placed at second position while South Africa enjoys third rank in the competition. This tournament has no space for any loose plays at the beginning and both the teams have to fight it out for a win from the very beginning.
Match Venue and Date
The first ICC Champions Trophy 2013 match will be played between India and South Africa. The match is scheduled at Cardiff Wales Stadium, Cardiff on June 6, 2013 at 3:00 pm.
India
After securing couple of thrilling wins in the warm up matches Indian team will be inaugurating in the 2013 Champions Trophy on a high. In the match against Sri Lanka bowling may have been a low point for India but Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik were able to revive the team’s play. They successfully led the team for a win chasing a score of 333. In the other battle the Indian score board read 308/6 at the end of the first inning at the play in return the Australian team was not even able to cross the 100 marks and winded at 65 runs only. In this tournament it seems batting is the savior for the team with Dinesh Karthik in form. However non performance of Murali Vijay and Shikhar Dhawan in both these matches can raise alarm.
The performance of the Indian bowlers was way too apart in both the matches. In one they simply lead the runs rope in against Sri Lanka while against Australia they simply smashed the team. The spinners were the real players against the Lankan team while pacers seemed to simply not even maintain their line and length of deliveries along with the pace. In contrast against Australia, Umesh Yadav coupling with Ishant Sharma the first 8 Australian wickets. There should be the same play from the team against SA as well.
South Africa
South Africa does not have a good past in the tournaments like this where they simple slip off at the crucial moments. However the SA team is not easy to confront with an ideal balance of young talent and much needed experience players, there are speculations on the best performance of the team. If we go by the team list the batting order of the SA team looks pretty promising but at the same time concerning as well. With the inclusion of new talent majorly it will be interesting to see how the team plays against the world’s best giants. Captain AB de Villiers will be the anchor point to the South African team.
In the bowling South Africa is no easy team in fact the bowlers seems to be the real strength of the team looking at their past performances. Dale Steyn is easily capable of burning hole in the bats of the players and is backed by Morne Morkel again a threat for all. Well in the middle order spinners Robin Peterson & Aaron Phangiso along with Lonwabo Tsotsobe will be interesting to look at.
Probable Team Squad
India: MS Dhoni (c&wk), Virat Kohli, Dinesh Karthik, Suresh Raina, Shikhar Dhawan, Murali Vijay, Umesh Yadav, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ishant Sharma
South Africa : AB de Villiers (c), Hashim AmlaDavid Miller, JP Duminy, Robin Peterson, , Alviro Petersen, Faf du Plessis, Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel, Aaron Phangiso, Lonwabo Tsotsobe
